Investing is a tough game. Looking at the past may only provide an indication of track record and history. There are no guarantees an investment will perform the same as in the past? No assurances that business will stay the same, no guarantee new competitors will come out with new products, services or markets, no assurances of how the future direction of business will be addressed or handled by regulators, stakeholders, competitors, government and internal and external forces to business.
MyMoney solution is only available to a Wholesale Investor (a person or an entity) as defined in the Corporations Act 2001. Please refer to sections 708 (8)(c)(i)(ii), 708 (9), 708 (10)(d) and 708 (11) of the Act for more detail.
On the 25 March 2019 ASIC has issued ASIC Corporations (Amendment) Instrument 2019/216 (Instrument) which has the effect of preserving the relief provided by Class Order [CO 02/273] Business introduction or matching services(original class order) for an additional three years.
The original Class Order gives conditional relief from the fundraising, financial product disclosure, hawking and advertising requirements in the Corporations Act 2001 that would apply to a person making or calling attention to offers of securities or interests in a registered managed investment scheme through a business introduction service.
The Instrument extends ASIC Corporations (Repeal and Transitional) Instrument 2017/186 (Instrument 2017/186), which preserved the effect of the original Class Order, until 1 April 2022. Without the Instrument, the relief in Instrument 2017/186 would have expired on 23 March 2019.

Research and due diligence
Having the right information and the right time and in the right place is a great place to start. We recognise that each investor has their own individual assessment criteria to assess information. If that was not the case we would just be able to key the information into a formula or model and everyone can have the same answer.
Our goal is to provide with access to qualitative and quantitative information to enable an initial assessment of the investment opportunity. We understand that each potential investor will have questions, require further clarification and meet with management. It is a big decision investing in companies as the goal of every investor is to make money and minimise the risk of loss. As part of our process, MyMoney does meet and discuss with the investee companies and asset owner before placing the investment opportunity on our platform that they are prepared to provide qualitative and quantitative information, participate in small group meetings or individual meetings to answer and clarify questions with potential investors.
Due diligence is critical to successful investing. Do you do too much vs too little? Do you follow the crowd? Do you just invest without any due diligence just because everyone else is investing? How many questions do I have to ask before I am comfortable? How long do I keep doing due diligence before making a decision? Do I over analyse the business and procrastinate and never make a decision? How much risk am I prepared to take with my investing? Are you not comfortable with investing as your investment may go down in value? Can I ride out the investment?
As part of your own due diligence, there is no one set of questions or standard answers that fits all investors. When it comes to the interpretation of data it is your knowledge, skills, experience and expertise to calculate whether to invest.
Many of today’s successful investors experience this every day. From the early investors in Paypal, Apple, Facebook, Netflix, Amazon, Atlassian, Canva, Google to just name a few experienced the same due diligence you are now experiencing. It also impacts non-successful investments in established companies that many professionals also got wrong from the likes of Kodak, Blockbuster, MySpace, Lehman Brothers, Enron, Dick Smith, MFS, Allco, Babcock and Brown, Bear Stearns the list is long and endless.
MyMoney strongly supports investors undertaking their own due diligence and will support where possible access to the investee. It is important to understand your own risk appetite to this category of investment as it is high risk and requires a stron consideration.
Once you are comfortable with the research and have undertaken your due diligence, it is now time to execute the documentation. It is important that you read fully and ask any questions of the issuer if you do not understand. The offer documents dependent on the offeree may include an information memorandum and application form, shareholder agreements, term sheets, antimoney laundering and know your client identification requirements and wholesale, sophisticated investor declarations.
MyMoney where possible will utilise the Blockchain initiative called BlockX. The platform provides for the benefits of authenticity, transparency and immutability.
Immutable simply means unchangeable.
Immutability — the ability for a blockchain ledger to remain a permanent, indelible, and unalterable history of transactions — is a definitive feature that blockchain evangelists highlight as a key benefit. Immutability has the potential to transform the auditing process into a quick, efficient, and cost-effective procedure, and bring more trust and integrity to the data businesses use and share every day.
With integrated payment platforms, direct access to your ownership certificate, transparency of the activity happening with your investment, we believe that the future of investing will be undertaken on Blockchain rather than through paper based manual record keeping.
